The Estonian Development Fund opened up applications for startup development program intended for students. The program is completed in cooperation with the University of Tartu Idea Lab, Tallinn University of Technology, Estonian Business School and the startup FlowHow. Students in Bachelor’s and Master’s studies who have a business vision of a company are welcome to apply.

According to Estonian Development Fund state program Startup Estonia project manager Mari Suviste, the program differs from other similar ones. “Usually, such programs are carried out within universities. With the cooperation project, students with different skills can cooperate with each other,” said Suviste. “In addition, the program also provides a practical outlet for the students’ work because by the end of the program, they will create their own startup,” Suviste added.

All teams which take part in the program are given €2000 to create the prototype for their startup. In addition, the best team of the program goes to the European Innovation Academy in Nice this July at the expense of the program. Applicants need to fill in the form at http://bit.ly/studentvc Applications are open until the 15th of April.

The program is launched in the scope of the program Startup Estonia, funded by the means of the European Regional Development Fund. Carried out in cooperation with the ecosystem of Estonian startups, the goal of Startup Estonia is to offer the starting entrepreneurs of Estonia an easily understood and comprehensive development environment and promote the creation and development of ambitious companies which are valuable for the whole world.
