22.05.2009

The slides for the environmental technology coffee morning:

INDUSTRY ENGINES 2018 ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY?

In the "Industry Engines 2018" foresight project we saw environmental products and services as one of the two growth areas having most potential for Estonian industry (see here).

At coffee morning, out of these 2 potential areas, we will focus on environment products and services. To do that, we will give an overview of development activity and current situation in Estonia concerning environmental technology. In addition, we will discuss the experience of our neighbours in Finland.

PRESENTERS AT THE COFFEE MORNING:

Tõnu Hein, founder of HeiVäl Consulting:
"Estonia's environmental technology today and opportunities for tommorow"

In 2008, HeiVäl conducted a thorough research among Estonia´s environmental technology developers about the current situation of their development and international sales, analysing the world market trends as well. Tõnu will present a summary of the results and conclusions of the research.

Santtu Hulkkonen, director of Cleantech Finland:
"Environmental technology development and business, the example of Finland"

In 2008, the Finnish export Agency Finpro launched a research programme, Cleantech Finland, which aimed to position Finland as the world´s leading country in the field of environmental technology by 2012. Santtu will introduce the content of the Cleantech Finland programme and other steps in Finland towards developing the field of environmental technology. Among other things, he is going to give an overview of the current situation in Finland and cooperation opportunities for Estonia.
