Asia Forum takes place from 10 am to 17 pm on May 23, 2012 at the Estonian Parliament’s conference centre
Rise of Asia is one of the biggest trends of the 21st century that offers important implications and opportunities for Estonia.
2012 is a turning point for Estonian activities towards Asia. Throughout 2011, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has developed the Government’s Asia programme. The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Estonia has been searching for an Asia-specific foreign economic policy agenda. Estonian Development Fund has been running discussion events related to Asia and conducted the Estonia-India Foresight Project.
To present these efforts and take the dicussion further, the forum will see leading figures in Estonian business and politics come together to think through Asian opportunities for Estonia.
The business seminar following the forum will answer many of the questions in the minds of entrepreneurs. One of the world’s leading experts on strategy and globalization, Anil K. Gupta of University of Maryland and INSEAD, will give a talk on how to leverage Asia for competitive advantage and growth. He will also stay for the rest of the business seminar where several Estonian entrepreneurs share experiences from their first steps towards Asia. In addition, Dinesh Senan, a consultant from Singapore, will present a concept for Estonian Centre of Excellence in Asia.
The event is invite-only. Please contact cathy.reljan@arengufond.ee for further information.
The forum is jointly organized by the Estonian Development Fund, Ministry of Economic Affairs of Estonia, Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Estonia and Enterprise Estonia. The event is partly financed through Enterprise Estonia (EAS) by European Social Fund (ESF).
