InnoLab: History lessons for the time of crisis

16.04.2009

In the economy is difficult to arrange experiments and the cost of attempts are mostly very expensive. Therefore, history is one of the most important sources for experiences in designing economic policy decisions.
Historian Jaak Valge talks about why and how the 1930's Great Depression started and went on and what Estonia did for relieving the influence of the crisis. We discuss what and how can be learned from historical experiences to handle the current crisis.

The presentation starts at 4pm. If you wish to attend, please send advance notice by email to: innolab[A]arengufond.ee

The Estonian Development Fund's Innovation Laboratory or InnoLab for short generally meets every Thursday evening from 4 to 6pm at our office (Tornimäe 5, 2nd floor). At that time the Estonian Development Fund opens the door for discussions on the topical economic themes that affect us. The InnoLab is the place to deal with emerging topics for the first time. The InnoLab takes the form of open presentations on these topics and ensuing discussions. Every meeting is full of new ideas and different points of view; with this in mind experts from outside the Estonian Development Fund are invited to the InnoLab. The presenters use their professional experience or knowledge to give meaning to new studies and analysis in economic, innovation and development areas.
