Survey: New jobs to come to IT-sector in the near future

BBN: In the next three months new jobs will be established in the IT-sector, also summer jobs in the restaurants and hotels, it appeared from the survey conducted among entrepreneurs by the Estonian Institute of Economic Research (EKI), E24.ee reports.

About third of industrial and trading companies plans to reduce the number of jobs, nearly half in construction sector and fifth in transportation.

"If young think where to find the job, then IT is the place. Restaurants and hotels need more workforce during the summer as well," Marje Josing, the head of EKI said.

 

The survey conducted among employees showed that about fifth of people think they likely lose their job in next three months. People who mostly tended to think so were either over 65 years of age or below 30. 5 pct of respondents were sure that they lose their jobs in next three months.

People with basic education were most pessimistic. The general trend was that the more educated was the person, the less he/she was threat by unemployment.

Both, employees and employers say that the situation on the labour market doesn't worsen as fast as some time ago.
